JPMorgan Takes Two Tokenized Money Market Funds to Solana

Published October 23, 2026rwastablecoinsguides

On 22 October 2026 J.P. Morgan Asset Management made its two tokenized money market funds, MONY and JLTXX, available on the Solana blockchain to qualified US investors. Both were already on Ethereum. Investors subscribe and redeem through the firm's Morgan Money platform and receive the fund tokens at their own blockchain addresses. The larger of the two, JLTXX, held about $789 million across both networks on rwa.xyz's figures, as viewed on 23 October.

Key facts

  • Who and when: J.P. Morgan Asset Management, announced in New York on 22 October 2026.
  • The funds: the My OnChain Net Yield Fund (MONY), a 506(c) private placement, and the JPMorgan OnChain Liquidity-Token Money Market Fund (JLTXX), a US-registered government money market fund.
  • Who can buy: qualified US investors only; for MONY, generally qualified purchasers and accredited investors.
  • Minimum: $1 million to open a position in either fund, according to the fund documents as summarised by crypto.news.
  • What they hold: US Treasury securities and repurchase agreements backed by Treasuries.
  • Size: about $788.9 million for JLTXX and $103 million for MONY, on rwa.xyz's figures as viewed on 23 October.

What is a tokenized money market fund?

An ordinary fund whose shares are also represented as tokens on a public blockchain.

A money market fund holds short-dated, low-risk debt — here, US Treasuries and repurchase agreements backed by them — and aims to keep its share price at $1.00 while passing on the interest. Tokenizing it changes how a share moves, not what the fund owns. There is still a manager, a transfer agent and a register; the token is a way of holding and moving a share on a network the investor already uses.

That distinction matters. According to JLTXX's documents as summarised by crypto.news, the transfer agent's register decides legal ownership and the token balances are meant to match it, though the two can briefly differ when blockchain instructions arrive outside business days. Tokenized treasuries explains where the trust in a token like this actually sits.

What is the difference between MONY and JLTXX?

The legal wrapper and the purpose.

MONY launched on Ethereum in December 2025, issued through Kinexys Digital Assets, JPMorgan's tokenization platform. It is a private placement for qualified investors. The Wall Street Journal, as reported by Cryptonews on 15 December 2025, put the bar at $5 million of investable assets for individuals and $25 million for institutions, and said JPMorgan seeded the fund with $100 million of its own capital.

JLTXX launched on Ethereum on 13 May 2026, with $100 million invested by J.P. Morgan Asset Management and Anchorage Digital also taking part, according to JPMorgan's own release. It is a registered government money market fund, and the 22 October release says it is designed to invest in a way that supports stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act — a home for the reserves behind a dollar token.

Why add Solana?

Because the clients are already there. "Our clients operate across more than one network, and their liquidity should too," said Paul Przybylski, global head of product for digital and tokenized assets at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

JPMorgan is not first. crypto.news notes that Franklin Templeton brought its tokenized government money fund to Solana in February 2025, and BlackRock's BUIDL followed in March 2025 as its seventh network.

How much has moved to Solana so far?

It depends on the fund, and the figures are one tracker's.

On rwa.xyz, as viewed on 23 October, about 450 million of JLTXX's roughly 789 million tokens sat on Solana, around 57%. MONY showed six tokens on Solana and more than 103 million on Ethereum. The same page had JLTXX's total down 5.2% over 30 days, so the Solana balance cannot be read as new money arriving.

What does it mean if you are not a qualified investor?

Mostly, that you cannot buy either fund — the $1 million minimum and the eligibility rules see to that. What changes is the plumbing, and a few points hold for anyone looking at a fund token:

  • The token is not the register. Ownership is decided by the transfer agent's records.
  • Transfers are limited. JLTXX needs approved addresses to buy, redeem or transfer, according to its documents as summarised by crypto.news; MONY restricts peer-to-peer transfers to clients.
  • $1.00 is a goal, not a promise. The release says the funds seek to preserve $1.00 a share but cannot guarantee it, and that they are not bank accounts and are not FDIC-insured.
  • Keys are your responsibility. The release lists safeguarding private keys among the risks of holding the tokens.

What is a fund token at the contract level?

A token with rules about who may hold it. The ledger underneath — balances, transfers, an address on each side — is the same one every token uses, and creating an ERC-20 token on Nura Chain walks through it step by step.

The announcement is J.P. Morgan Asset Management's release of 22 October 2026; the fund sizes are rwa.xyz's and will have moved by the time you read this.
